I don't know what my deal is with bananas.
So I decided it was time to suck it up and do something with those bad boys, and I pulled out The Mother's recipe for banana bread. I had all the ingredients I needed. I located my loaf pans. I plotted out how I would include the baking in my day. And then I realized that the best way for me to make banana bread was to take the bananas to The Mother's house for her to make it. I am nothing if I am not resourceful.
And forgot to eat. For 3 days. 3 really really hot days.

Betcha it still wasn't as bad as the cheese in the car! Posted by: MemphisBelle at August 15, 2005 11:39 AM If it makes you feel any better I do the exact same thing w/ the banana hoarding...my husband has taken to throwing out bananas that are too ripe to eat before I can squirrel them away in the freezer for another day. I am sure I have enough bananas in there for six or seven double batches of banana bread. Posted by: denise at August 15, 2005 12:17 PM MemphisBelle took the words right out my, um, "mouth?" Posted by: CAD Monkey at August 15, 2005 01:50 PM How about The Mothers banana bread recipe? Any chance of you posting it? Pretty Please? Posted by: rhonda at August 15, 2005 07:52 PM You can add my recent finding of a mostly empty bottle of chocolate milk under the seat of my car...pee-yew. Posted by: veg4me at August 15, 2005 08:12 PM Yeah, I was going to ask the same thing as rhonda....how about offering up that banana bread recipe? It's been awhile since you've posted any new recipes....slacker. You know someone in Texas loves you... Posted by: Kristin at August 16, 2005 11:59 AM I will post that banana bread recipe just as soon as I can. And I know I have slacked on the recipes. I usually make something and think,"Oh, write this down", and then like a month passes. Posted by: The Food Whore at August 17, 2005 11:50 AM I quit corporate america one day (took a LOA that turned into no-job-to-go-back-to) and was so relieved I came home, threw my work bag in the corner and didn't look at it again for a couple weeks. With the yogurt I had forgotten to eat for breakfast still in there. Yes, it had popped and congealed. Thank God there were no other surprises in there...
