Of The Devil
August 12, 2005

We added to our Waitstaff last week with a new hire. She's beautiful and bright and she is finishing up her Bachelor's degree in psychology.

After a particularly insane dinner rush she came in the kitchen and said, "I don't need a degree in psychology to figure out that 90% of the population are of The Devil and they all stop by here for dinner on their way to Hell."

I smiled at her and said, "Next week I will take you out on a catering and show you just exactly what they act like when they get there."

And yet, you get up and go to work every day. What's the lure? Money? Prestige? The warm knowledge you kick their hellish asses on a daily basis with the skill of a ninja and return home owning their pitiful souls?
I'm curious.

She sounds like she will fit in nicely!

It won't be long til she'll be saving you the hassle of mouthing off to the customers.

Looks like she will be able to handle herself!

Beautiful & bright, what's that look like?

She will make an excellent psychologist. Come to think of it, I think some food service training should be mandatory for all social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists.

And primary care MD's, too. What the hell.

(Yes, I worked as a waitron in college.)

Actually Dr. Alice,

I think psycology should be mandatory for chefs! We are a crazy, hedonistic , take no prisoners (but a lot of crap from our customers) kind of group!

Thanks for listening.
