Tyra
December 01, 2005

I've been living off Cepacol losenges and chicken broth since Saturday morning. I've lost a total of 5 pounds, and total respect for the scheduler at my dr.'s office.

Thanksfully, I am feeling markedly better, and have so much to catch up on.

But I want to take a minute to get a very important question answered:

Who's the person who told Tyra Banks it was ok to speak, let alone have a damn talk show?

Seriously, Tyra. You are a beautiful woman. Gorgeous. But as soon as your mouth opens...oh, dear.

Be pretty, Tyra.

Just please be quiet.

Ahhh, The joys of daytime talk shows. You do not have be smart or funny just have a good booking agent. Get well soon.

You said it, Sister!

My fiance said something interesting yesterday: TV isn't about innovation anymore, it's about variation. Tyra is a perfect example. Why do we need ANOTHER talk show? Do you remember when once upon a time we were happy with a few channels? Now we might have the all-day nose-picking channel and stupid critics oohing and aahing at its heart-stopping drama and unexpected twists.

Glad you're feeling better, FW.

Someone's giving Ms. Banks some bad advice. They probably say, "Oh Tyra...your boobs looked so good in that last Victoria's Secret show...oh, wait...I've got a great idea...you should have your own talk show!!"

Otherwise,I can't see how they came up with such a hideous idea.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I just got the news from my allergist that I can't take Claritin or Benadryl for at least SEVEN days. That is like asking me to hold my breath for EONS. I'm prepared with kleenex and saline solution. And, ditto on Tyra, Montel, Maury, and the rest. Just SHUT UP.

Glad you're feeling better. You might consider a cup of herbal tea as hot as you can stand it with a squeeze of lemon, a dollup of honey, and two fingers of Wild Turkey 101. Does wonders for the throat. And your disposition.

I'm with Greg - at the first sign of sickness, I get out the "Theraflu Cocktail" - HOT water, a packet of theraflu (night time, none of that sissy 'non-drowsy' stuff) it's lemon-flavored, so no need for lemon - add a tablespoon of honey and a shot of dark rum. Sleep soundly, feel better.

Yeah, yeah, meds and alcohol, but it hasn't killed me yet.

Just don't operate any heavy machinery.......

Uh...haven't seen the Tyra show, but generally I think Tyra Banks is HILARIOUS (when I have seen interviews and candids with her in the past). I guess I have a different sense of humor than the others who don't find her funny... It's all entertainment. Just like I thought Nicole Ritchie was hilarious (and I thought Paris was dumb) but together they were entertaining...for a Sunday afternoon stuck in the house because it's pouring down rain outside. But seriously... they've achieved their goals. We're talking about them. 'nuff said.

Hahaha - you poor thing! I am not sure which is worse - daytime TV or strep.

I usually just catch The Soup on E! tv - that way I get my weekly dose of stupidity boiled down into one half hour.

Some one must have been reading all these comments. Press release on December 6th announced that Tyra is "retiring" ! You have to admit, though, that bad tv is better than pain killers and/or sleeping pills and a lot safer!
