I can tolerate them. I'm afraid of muddying up my site too, but the configurable color scheme fits in pretty well. I haven't gotten any flatulence related advertisers yet!

I don't see ads right now either ... but I am fine with them, load it up. I read blogs that are positively obnoxious with ads ... it's all about the content ;)

I'm cool with it. Esp. google ads which generally attempt to be relevant *and* non-blinding.

In order to keep your site running I am sure we can all tolerate the ads. The current one was for an online foodie mag (agalinks.com) and it had a great recipe on it that I just printed so thanks from me :D

ads are fine ... my definite preference is for the non-blinking, non-popup variety, though.

I'm for the ads... I run Google ads on my blog, most of the pages get weird, meaningless ads but a few pages, the ones that get a lot of search engine traffic because of the specific content on them -- they get relevant ads and a number of clicks, which translates to some money. My PageRank is a little less than yours so I'd expect you'd do better. Go for it!

Personally I ain't hip to the Ad. I get enough of that during my every day travels and have made a point of not having any on Meathenge.
However, I can be bought. If anyone were to supply Meathenge with some Nikkor lenses and some nice studio strobes, their camera store logo would go right up.
I suppose it all depends on what level you can be bought, heh.

Google uses key words loaded on the site to determine their ad placement...it's fancy technology, but if you used more words like cooking or catering or restaurant, it would pick up on it. I love your blog btw.~
