Disgruntled
July 16, 2006

This is the very basic principle of why people - dumb people - make me crazy.

We lost a friend this week. And Friday we attended his funeral. The darling church ladies provided a lovely church luncheon - ham buns, potato salad, vegies, fruit, and an amazing array of home-baked sweets and cookies. They were sweet and helpful and honored to be a part of it all.

While standing outside in the fresh air talking with friends, I overheard a gentleman bitching about the "lack of good food". Apparently, "He's hungry, and a bun is the best they could do??"

Seriously, someone's dead.

Go to damn Ihop.

I'm sorry for your loss. We went to a funeral on Friday also. No food offerings. Just the ringing of the ice cream truck that pulled into the parking lot behind the hearse.
All the children went for it. Later, adults started macking out on what the vendor had to offer. A sale is a sale, I suppose.
It was 102 degrees.

Tootles,

Anni :-)

What a massive jack ass.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, and I'm sorry that you had to listen to an insensitive moron at the funeral. All I can hope is that nobody in the family heard him...

Wow, what an ignorant, selfish prick!

People say the most amazingly stupid things at funerals and visitations. At my aunt's funeral luncheon last year, I overheard someone in attendance complaining that there was no alcoholic beverages to accompany the church ladies luncheon. His companion said "dude, this isn't a wedding!"

i'm sorry to hear about your friend, but seriously, i would have bitch-slap that guy... was he expecting a banquet or something? jeeezzz...

my sincere condolences. don't sweat the crazies.

My condolences on your loss - it's never easy, and dealing with cluelessness is just too much on top of that.

I'm sorry for your loss. When I see people act that way I always ask myself, did your parents raise you to be an insensitive jerk or did you just decide it was what you wanted to be...

Dear FW,

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

As for "Hungry-Hungry Hippo" maybe he should have eaten his shoe. Lord knows he had already opened his mouth and inserted his foot.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not sure what he was expecting. My mom is from the south, and ham buns are traditional (usually it's a really NICE ham with parker rolls). There is never a lack of food, but it's all homemade. If he didn't like the food at one of those weddings, he would be asked what he brought! LOL

In rural northern Indiana, church lady food is some of the best around and it typically is found in large quantities so I can't understand how he could have left that luncheon hungry. I'm assuming no such meal will be provided for this a-hole when he dies as I'm sure no one will give two $hits that he's gone.

It's called GRATITUDE you colossal jerk.

People. They never cease to amaze me. So sorry for your loss.

FW - sorry for your loss. It does seem as though in this day and age many people have lost some common courtesy and decency - a reminder for all of us to do a 'self check' - to let that next person merge, to not throw the next cigarrette butt out the car window, to recycle, pick up some trash 'just because' and to check our words before we speak, and to share a kind word and a kind deed every day.

Not go to IHOP, go to hell.

People are stupid. This one was stupid AND had no class. Sheesh.

I'm sorry for your loss.
