If you are walking down the street and see a crazy looking woman in a tattered coat and soiled apron screaming, "MAKE A RESERVATION" at random increments, don't be frightened. Be nice to her. It's probably me. (To the kind people who e-mailed, comments are turned back on. I was on an out of town Gig for 4 days and turned them off to keep the penis peddlers at bay.) Damn those penis peddlers. Posted by: shelley at March 13, 2007 03:32 PM And damn the Viagra vendors as well. Welcome back. Posted by: kitchen hand at March 13, 2007 04:57 PM Kitchen Tourette's, say it loud, say it proud. Posted by: Raging Lunatic at March 13, 2007 06:37 PM screamin' Yes... reservations... [please] I get it.... especially for 7 o'clock on any given day... I feel your pacing on the corner pain. Posted by: central grille at March 13, 2007 09:08 PM I love the title of your blog. I was a food whore: is was my lover, friend and my whole world revovled around food. If you get a chance take a look at my blog www.theloveyourselfcoach.blogspot.com and see how everyday I am putting the food whore in a loving box. Posted by: Helen Burton at March 14, 2007 07:28 AM Promise, no ham throwing, ok? Posted by: deja moo at March 14, 2007 09:35 AM my favorite is when your booked, poeple make reservations early and then show up whenever they want to (usually late or during the rush) or they don't make any reservation but claim they have and then demand a table Posted by: the server at March 15, 2007 05:56 AM Yeah, like I'm going to use a "coach" who can't comprehend what she's read. Or, comments before she reads. Posted by: A Nony Mous at March 15, 2007 10:45 AM I totally agree 'A Nony Mous'! Ms. Helen Burton is supposed to be one of those touchy feely love yourself coaches ... but has the ignorance to use somebody else's blog to advertise for their own blog without even having the decency to make a comment on what the FW wrote about! Obviously, she is just randomly going onto people's blogs and using them for advertising and not even bothering to read them...Man! Posted by: Carmen at March 15, 2007 02:57 PM Hi FW -- love your site, your writing, your wit, your sensibility. I hope you don't mind if I comment here about the Budget Bride post, since comments are turned off on that one. I'm someone who's about to be married in a month or so. We're paying for our own reception (since my elderly dad, far from paying for a wedding, needs us to help support him at this point in his life). I think that Budget Bride mentality is truly gross. And I've read all those "fire your wedding planner" websites. We're trying pretty hard to save as much as we can, but not at the cost of our own dignity by lowballing self-respecting people who are trying to make a living, too. We're fortunate enough to be working with a pragmatic, friendly caterer -- someone like you, I think -- who wants to help us stay within a $50 per person range without alcohol, which we'll provide ourselves. This means we can have a fun and unique variety of foods without luxury items -- and that's just fine. I'm embarrassed on behalf of all brides that this pink-bedecked chick had the nerve to say the words "15.95" to you. Sorry about that. Posted by: Julie at March 17, 2007 08:46 AM |
