"I know it might be a lot to ask. But to keep with the overall costume theme for the party, would the two of you mind dressing up as a pinata when you deliver the food? You can say no, of course. But it would be so much fun!" Oh, yeah. Because that is what I need. A legitimate reason for someone to hit me with a big stick.

The year before I started working as a catering waitress, the company I worked for did a wedding on Halloween and the bride thought it would be fun if the staff dressed up, too. So there's a picture in the office as the entire staff dressed up in a "Wizard of Oz" theme--complete with someone in a Glinda dress. Because that's exactly what I would want to serve food and clear tables in...
