Question of the Day
February 21, 2008

Question Of The Day at The Restaurant:

"Are there a lot of clams in the clam chowder? I love clam chowder, but I don't like clams. If there are a lot of clams can you please pick them out for me so I don't have to do it?"

Well of course. And why don't you let me pick up your dry-cleaning and give your car a nice wash and wax.

*sigh*

... The questions just never fail to surprise, right? Even when you think you've heard them all, there they go.

Does the person want you to hold their hand when they use the toity and wipe their bums for them too?

How can you like clam chowder but not want CLAMS in it?

*blushes guility*

I adore clam chowder-- without the clams. One experience of having an extremely gritty mouthful of clams wasn't so bad. I'd say that the after-dinner event of contributing to the sewer lines, thanks to eating chowder with slimy rotten clams, was what did me in.

The flavor of clam juice is delish; I just can't eat the little buggers anymore. I do manage to pick the meat out all by myself, if I do order it.

What a hoot.

Clam chowder without the clams? That's potato chower, right? Ya know, I think you could potentially add a new dish to your menu--clam chowder with the clams on the side. Charge extra, though. :-)

Well it must have been the day for it. i was asked if there were a lot of shrimp in the shrimp gumbo and, if so, could they be removed before serving.

Hmmm, I remember a boyfriend of my sister asking the waitress if the turkey club had turkey in it. He later converted to Mormonism, married a fellow Mormon and had a huge number of children.

Thank goodness you're back. After reading through your archives I was having withdrawal symptoms.

My favorite food is a peanut butter cup without the peanut butter. That's right. I love the way the 20% cocoa chocolate tastes next to the peanut butter, so I'll eat it from the edges of the peanut butter, then throw out the peanut mass. It just makes me feel warm inside, but not peanut buttery.

I have pickles put on my burgers, but then pick them off right before I eat it. I like the lingering pickle flavor, but the pickle itself is too much. I guess everyone is guilty of some type of food crime!

And sometimes the reverse... My mother-in-law handed a bowl of pork stew to my sister-in-law, a vegetarian, and said "Oh, just pick the pork out...".

hehehehehe...
