| Lemon Drop Martini
February 02, 2005 There are a lot of variations, but this is my way:
Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (No pits, please!) Mix 1 part Lemon Juice with a "splash" of Simple Syrup, to one part (ok 3 parts) Vodka. Pour over ice in a martini shaker and shake vigorously for a few seconds. NOTE: Make sure when shaking the Shaker that the lid is securely placed on top and one hand rests securely on the lid. I got cocky one time and did a one-handed shake and the lid flew off and precious Lemon Drop was flailed all over my stove. Use a lemon wedge to wet the rim of a martini glass and dip in superfine sugar or confectioner's sugar. Pour in the lemon drop and enjoy! Or, you know. Just drink it right from the shaker. Yum. We may just have to have this instead of cosmos at my house this Friday! Posted by: Kate at February 3, 2005 09:32 AM Darn...and I just brushed my teeth. Oh well, you did say this was a fine mouthwash didn't you? Posted by: thefoxymama at February 3, 2005 09:21 PM Oh... my... is 12:21 too early to ditch work and go get a lemon drop?? But, um... my poison of choice is Hangar One Buddha's hand. Some say it's too good to mix a cocktail. I say, "buzz off". Posted by: Fatemeh at February 4, 2005 12:22 PM Oooh, this is my favorite drink as well. I order it in many restaurants, but about half of the drinks are too sweet and syrupy. So I'll try this recipe. Posted by: Bex at February 27, 2005 06:27 PM Hey, I try this with limonchello - this lemon liquer from italy - it rocks!!! I got my first bottle from Genoa in Italy, and the second in the gourmet wine store at Grand Central in NYC. Posted by: Nish at March 2, 2005 10:11 PM |
